Want to work for the Conflict Affected Communities?

Employer: International Relief and Development (IRD) Inc. is a US non-profit organisation expecting to implement a community based services and livelihood project in mid and far western regions of Nepal in support of conflict affected communities. IRD Nepal is requesting CVs from individuals with experience in the following areas.

Duty Station: Mid and Far West regions.
Position: Team Leader (Code IRD1/08) - 1 position
Person Specification: experience of leading and managing projects with communities; social mobilisation; community empowerment work; knowledge and understanding of the peace process and conflict management and internally displaced conflict affected persons.

Position: Community Infrastructure Specialist (Code IRD2/08)- 1 position
Person Specification: Experiece of designing and implementing community basic infrastructure project with reasonable experience of rural water and sanitation sector and hygiene; experience of working with rural communties.

Position: Livelihood Specialist (Code IRD3/08)- 1 position
Person Specification: Experience of working with rural communities in their livelihood needs, training needs and market analysis; management of skill training courses, experience of overseeing business development, financial management training and experiecne in micro-credit

Position: Community Development Specialist (Code IRD4/08)- 1 position
Person Specification: Experience of social mobilisation,ensuring equal opportunities and encouraging proportionate representation from diverse groups; encouraging communities to plan andimplement their own initiatives; facilitating technical support; experience of training communities in management, accounting, operation and maingtenance aspects; experience of monitoring and evaluation of community infrastructure and livelihood work.

Qualifications for all of the above positions:
  • At least 5 years of experience in the sspecialised area;
  • advanced University Degree;
  • Esperience of working in donor funded projects preferably with US Government;
  • English proficiency;
  • people with midand far west preferred.
