Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist

Employer: DFID, the bilateral UK development department in Nepal. It works with the Government of Nepal and other national and international development partners to eliminate poverty in line with the Millennium Development Goals. DFID is committed to promoting reform and development in order to address the root causes of poverty in Nepal. It gives priority to support economic opportunities and essential services to poor and disadvantaged communities, including those currently affected by conflict, and to social justice and governance reforms. And it is committed to delivering assistance transparently and with full accountability to local communities. DFID established a Community Support Programme (CSP) to provide practical support to communities mainly in fourteen core districts in the east and mid and-far west of Nepal. Programme Management Offices have been established in Dhankuta and Nepalgunj.

Position: DFID-CSP West would like to invite applications for the post of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist to be based in Nepalgunj office. The post holder will be responsible to ensure effective monitoring of community initiatives; document the CSP lessons, and share the learning to concerned institutions and partners. The M&E specialist will work closely with the DDC/VDCs and will develop CSP monitoring framework and facilitate its implementation to programme and partner staffs. DFID invites application from people who are from or have practical experiences on programme monitoring, evaluation, database management and documentation of community development projects. DFID is interested in people who have proven competencies and track records on: analytical thinking and judgement, communicating and influencing, working with others, leading and managing and managing knowledge and information.

Qualifications:
• Master degree in relevant academic discipline with a minimum of 5 years of experience of working in a development project/programmes and at least 2 years especially in monitoring and evaluation, or
• Bachelors degree in a relevant academic discipline with a minimum of 7 years of experience of working in a development projects/programmes and at least 2 years especially in monitoring and evaluation
• Previous training in monitoring and evaluation will be desirable There will be attractive salary and benefit package commensurate to qualification and experience. The successful candidate will be contracted for one year.
